Focus+Efficiency=Quicker Adsense Revenue

Alright, so we've seen that Adsense will work for anyone that is willing to work at it, but you must make sure that your work is the RIGHT work in order to make money with Adsense.

Adsense pays when visitors click the Adsense ads that appear on your website or blog. So your first order of business is to create a website or blog that people will want to visit, which is determined completely by the type of content that you put up. The most successful Adsense websites focus on a specific topic, or niche, that your content is focused on.

In choosing the topic of your website, start with something that you are familiar with or that you can learn about quite easily. Most people choose something associated with their work or hobbies, that they can quickly write several articles about in order to get their website or blog started. If you are starting from scratch, a blog is your easiest choice, as you can add small bits of content at a time, building up your content over a long period of time.

Make sure that your topic is narrowed down enough that your articles or information can be easily determined and indexed by search engines and so that there is less comeptition for high search results. In that light, a beginning webmaster or blogger should stay away from the mainstream popular topics and choose something for which the competition is much less. Although the popular topics may command the highest paying ads, the competition is so abundant that your chances of high search rankings for keywords in that topic are slim to none.

Now that you have chosen your topic, you must have a plan. Construct a simple outline of content that you will either include in your website as individual pages, or that you will add to your blog as entries day by day. As you begin to write each piece, build each entry or page around one or two specific keywords within your niche to keep the content focused enough to draw targeted Adsense ads that your visitors will be interested in. If your focus gets too broad, or if you wander off track in your content, Adsense ad content will start to shift away from your niche, thus holding less appeal to targeted visitors. Less ad content appeal means less clicks, meaning less money being paid to your Adsense account.

One note here: there are several "Adsense Website Packages" available that provide you with pre-made niche content websites with Adsense code already built-in. While these packages will save you tons of time in content creation, they probably won't gain you much in search rankings or revenue, since everyone who purchases these packages is presenting the same content to the world. Google and other search engines don't favor duplicate content, so unless you are going to count more on paid advertising than organic search rankings to draw traffic, don't expect to see large crowds flocking to your site.

In short, a little planning goes a long way when it comes to ramping up your Adsense revenue in a short timespan. By doing a little preparation beforehand, you can increase your efficiency while decreasing the time it takes to see your first Adsense payments start to trickle in. It won't take long with a little consistent affort to see that payments start to add up to significant money. So before you launch your website or blog, make sure you have prepared for a solid start and also have a plan of attack ready to follow once you get into action. Then you can be sure that everything you put into your Adsense endeavors is not wasted time that you will have to undo or redo somewhere down the road.

The Adsense Secret

In the last several years, Google Adsense has become a craze in the Internet Marketing community. It seemed like all of a sudden, Adsense "gurus" and "experts" started crawling out of the woodwork, tauting what they claimed to be the newest "secrets" to making big bucks from Google Adsense.

Like any fad, most of the products or ebooks that were and are being offered were nothing but over-hyped fluff. There are a few, though, that are based on quality information that is effective in increasing Adsense revenues. I know, because I purchased and tried several of both varieties.

And in the end, I actually did learn the "Secret" of making money with Google Adsense, and I will share it with you right now.

The Adsense Secret is that there is no secret to Adsense.

All of the Adsense products being pandered online provide you with the same basic information about Adsense, and then each one puts its individual spin on how to implement Adsense into your website or blog to entice visitors to click the ads. Actually, most of what you get in these package deals can be found for free right on Google's website, or it can be discovered on your own with a little bit of research and testing. What you are paying for in these products is the convenience of having someone else do all the work for you.

Now I'm not saying that all of the Adsense products on the market are a waste of good money--some (which I recommend here) are extremely helpful in shaving off a large part of the learning curve for newbies. Others may save you time and/or money by helping you create the infrastructure for a website or blog in which Adsense will be integrated. But whether you buy and use someone's ebook, website maker, article creator, or "secret" strategy, the bottom line is that there is no "automated" Adsense money machine that will continue to pour in cash which you can just purchase, set up, and forget it.

If there is a real secret to Adsense, it is this: Adsense is not a get-rich-quick scheme that will make you a millionaire while you sit back and relax. Adsense has the potential to make anyone rich, but the only ones who attain that status are the ones who work at it.

So here's the bottom line--Adsense will work for anyone who is willing to work at it. A few of the ebooks and products out there may help you to get started on the right track, but unless you are willing to produce a quality blog or website with relevant content that real people are interested in reading, none of the Adsense "secrets" will do a dime's worth of good for you.

Is Adsense Dead?

There are rumors and reports circulating on the internet today that decry Google Adsense as a used up medium of generating revenue from a website or blog. While I must admit that it is more difficult to generate significant traffic to a website than it once was, Adsense, when implemented correctly on a website with quality content, is still a viable source of revenue for any webmaster willing to dedicate a little time and effort into the endeavor.

As a rule, Adsense is not dead. In fact it continues to generate significant advertising revenues for Google, as well as for a myriad of "publishers" (to use Google's term for those publishing Adsense ads on their websites). The key is that those publishers who continue to see Adsense revenues increase, or at least remain on a constant level, are those who are dedicated to making their Adsense websites or blogs worthwhile content sources for web visitors.

Most of those publishers who are consistently making three to six figures a month from Adsense have more than one website, and in many cases, have created a network of websites and blogs that focus on a specific topic. Using one main website as the central source of information, the webmaster uses the other smaller sites and blogs as supplemental sites that link back to the main site, thus increasing the inbound links and the pagerank of the main site. Of course, the entire network is intended to establish the main website as an "authority" on a specific topic or "niche."

Apart from these niche networks, there still are a few individual websites and blogs that continue to pull in enough Adsense revenue to make their existence worth the effort for their authors. But, like the networks, they still require quality niche content that is regularly updated and added to in order that the search engines rank them high enough in search results to warrant visitors. (More on that in subsequent posts.)

Many Adsense tools and resources are being marketed online today by self-proclaimed Adsense "experts" claiming to hold the key to unlocking the hidden secrets of Adsense. The truth is, that while many of them prove to be useful soources of information to help the Adsense newbie, most of them are really just the same basic information presented in new packaging. From this author's point of view, Joel Comm and Michael Cheney provide the most professional and complete products to help the Adsense beginner experience the quickest success. You can find resources by both of these Adsense professionals, as well as a host of other Adsense resources, at Adsense-Assistant.com.

The short answer to the question of Adsense's vitality is that it is still alive and paying, but only for those who are willing to put forth the time and effort that any legitimate business undertaking requires. Don't give up on Adsense just yet. But you'd better be willing to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty if you want to make it worth your while.
